Simon Collins to Be Next KPMG UK Chairman and Senior Partner

Simon Collins will become its new UK Chairman and Senior Partner. Simon, who is currently Global Head of KPMG’s Transactions and Restructuring group, will take over leadership of the firm on 1 October after the retirement of John Griffith-Jones.

Commenting on the appointment, John Griffith-Jones, KPMG UK Chairman, said: “I am delighted that Simon will be taking over from me in October. He has received a clear mandate from the partnership and I am sure that under his leadership the firm has a bright future. Simon has already proven himself to be a fine partner and leader, greatly respected by his peers, clients and industry alike. At a time of regulatory uncertainty for our profession, I am certain that Simon will provide the strong and clear leadership needed in order to move the firm forward into the future.”

Simon Collins, KPMG UK Chairman elect, said: “I am delighted and greatly honoured to have been elected by my fellow partners to lead the firm. Simon Collins, aged 51, qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986. He founded KPMG’s Debt Advisory practice in 1998, joining the firm from NatWest where he was Global Head of Debt Structuring. Prior to that, he worked in the financing business of SG Warburg. Simon is a member of the KPMG Europe LLP Executive and Board, KPMG’s Global Advisory Executive and the KPMG India Oversight Board. He is also a member of the UK Government’s Industrial Development Advisory Board.
