May 15, 2012 /

KPMG announces that audit partner Chris Hearld is its new office senior partner in Leeds.

Chris, from York, has been with KPMG ‘man and boy’, since graduating 18 years ago. This is his sixth year as a member of the firm’s partnership, which he joined aged just 33; he was one of the youngest partners in KPMG’s history to achieve that rank.

He has worked with Yorkshire businesses throughout his career, from plcs, PE backed and privately owned companies, while also enjoying spells focusing on the Financial Services sector and time in London.

Commenting, Chris said: “I’m really excited to take up this role and looking forward to progressing KPMG’s momentum as a dominant force in the region’s business community. The firm is in a very strong position in Yorkshire and performing well, despite the ongoing challenges in the economic environment.

“I am honoured to have had the opportunity to lead teams working closely with companies such as Morrisons, Pace, Renew, VP, Marshalls and R&R Ice Cream to name just a handful.

“The quality of Yorkshire’s businesses is utterly inspiring and constantly proving ourselves an asset to them as they pursue opportunities and manage risk in difficult times remains my top priority.”

Iain Moffatt, who has been KPMG’s office senior partner since 2008, has been elevated to a national role within KPMG. He sits on the firm’s UK board, in the role of head of national markets.
