KPMG has been named ‘Best Islamic Assurance and Advisory Services Provider’ in the 2012 Euromoney Islamic finance awards. This marks the fifth consecutive year KPMG has taken the top prize, which is a record in the advisory category.

Now in their tenth year, the awards are widely regarded as the benchmark awards for the global Islamic finance industry. Euromoney highlighted KPMG’s active role in promoting and supporting the development of the Islamic finance industry around the world especially in new markets.

Jeremy Anderson, global head of financial services at KPMG, commented: “I am absolutely delighted KPMG has received this award for what is now a record-breaking fifth year in a row. 2011 was a year of challenges and opportunities for all in the industry. Through intense focus on our clients’ objectives we have been able to help them find their way through these demanding times.”

Samer Hijazi, director in KPMG’s financial services practice, added: “Our team is committed to the growth and development of the Islamic finance industry and we look forward to continuing to work in this exciting area.”

KPMG now has a well established global Islamic finance and investment group with a network of professionals in 37 countries including markets as diverse as Russia, Africa, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
